INDIVIDUALS TAKING POLITICAL ACTION - WORKING TOWARD A BETTER TOMORROW
Our next meeting is Monday, August 11, 2025 at 6:30 pm - in person at the North Amherst library, 8 Montague Rd. AND via Zoom. Email us at valleyactiongroup@gmail.com with any questions or for the Zoom link.
Action is The Antidote to Anxiety
Help your friends and neighbors who are concerned but overwhelmed figure out how to fight the authoritarian takeover of our country. CLICK THIS LINK to get a flyer you can print out and distribute. It gives basic information and step by step instructions on what steps people can take right now.
Some additional thoughts to keep in mind. This struggle will take time to fix. Do not despair. It is important to understand that the voters, especially in numbers, have enormous power and impact - so it is important to work together. Read more here on how we will defend our democracy. And then do some actions listed below.
ACTIONS
Rally and Protest! Right now all around us and every day of the week there are rallies and protests (including I91 overpass protests) that you can attend. Go to https://www.mobilize.us/ and find one that fits your time and interest.
This month’s CALLS to Action… call (or write) your Representatives about the following
Call MA Reps - Pass “An Act Establishing Medicare for All In Massachusetts” this session!
Call US Senators - Oppose Trump Attorney Emil Bove for Federal Court Judge
Call US Rep - Restore Full Funding to Weather Forecasting and Climate Science
Call MA Reps - Support 3 bill to help stop abductions of immigrants
Send Postcards
If you want, you can fill out this form and we will get you what you need to get postcards and/or addresses on important upcoming races/issues.
Phone bank
No phone banks at this time. Check back later.
Share your story
If your work is impacted by the Trump/Musk administration’s actions, share your story widely. Post it on social media, email your friends (especially non-Democrats), submit a letter to the editor.
Talk to moderate Republican friends, family and see if they will make calls to their Republican officials about things like cuts to cancer research, Veterans health, aid to Farmers.
Send Gratitude
Express your gratitude to the federal workers in your life, ask how you can support them, and offer to share resources like: What Federal Workers Can Do to Protect Themselves, Democracy Protection Network, Civil Service Strong, and the American Federation of Government Employees labor union.
Donate to one of these organizations that are suing the Trump/Musk administration on behalf of all of us: ACLU, Public Citizen, Center for Constitutional Rights, Southern Poverty Law Center, Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington. And, NPR is under threat to lose federal funding. Show your support by donating to NEPM.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”
--Margaret Mead

Our Purpose
Valley Action started out of a living room with a group of friends concerned about important issues facing our world. We continue to be concerned about the state of our democracy. We are people who want a voice in the progress of our community.
We are a registered Indivisible Group.
